Ex-CABE director appointed chair of Elephant and Castle Community Forum
Former CABE Space director Sarah Gaventa has been appointed chair of the Elephant and Castle Community Forum.
The Community Forum brings together 160 stakeholder groups from across Elephant and Castle. It was formed by Lend Lease to ensure that views and requirements of diverse stakeholder groups in the Elephant and Castle (for example, health, disability, education) are taken into account during preparation of the masterplan.
Rob Deck, Lend Lease project director said:'We’re delighted that Sarah Gaventa has been appointed to the role of Chair of the Forum. Sarah’s experience as a former director of CABE Space, the body which until recently undertook specialist review of the design of public spaces together with her passion for great design of such spaces makes her an ideal choice for this role. The Forum is an important element of our consultation at the Elephant and Castle.’
Sarah Gaventa added: ‘As the independent chair of the Forum I am looking forward to supporting the local Elephant and Castle community and facilitating a productive dialogue which I hope will contribute to creating an excellent regeneration project that benefits local people.’
