Soundings
Lend Lease have engaged Soundings to support Lend Lease in its public consultation.
Soundings is an independent consultancy tasked with ensuring the full involvement of the community in the development of proposals for the Elephant and Castle. Appointed by Lend Lease in May, 2011, Soundings have worked with Lend Lease, Southwark Council and key representatives of the community to establish and run an open and inclusive consultation process.
Soundings followed a three stage process to help structure dialogue and engagement with the community in connection with the generation of a masterplan for the 9.3 hectares (23 acre) Heygate Estate and a detailed design for Phase 1, Rodney Road. An Outline Planning Application for the Heygate estate and a Detailed Planning Application for the phase 1 site have now been submitted to Southwark Council. Soundings have also been working with Lend Lease and Southwark Council to undertake consultation for proposals for a mixed use residential led development, and new Leisure Centre on the site of the Fusion Leisure Centre. The planning applications for the detailed design of both developments have also been submitted to Southwark Council.
