Who’s Who in the Elephant & Castle?
There are lots of things happening in the regeneration Opportunity Area, and it can be difficult to know who is doing what. This section aims to tell you about some of the key stakeholders in the area.
London Borough of Southwark:
The majority landowner in the ‘Opportunity Area’ and the planning authority who will ultimately decide what is built in the Opportunity Area.
In 2010 LBS entered in to a regeneration agreement with Lend Lease as its commercial partner to develop a significant part of the ‘Core Area’.
Lend Lease:
Founded in Australia in the 1950s and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, Lend Lease is a leading real estate specialist creating, enhancing and managing real estate assets around the world.
In the UK its business is focused primarily on the delivery of large scale, retail led, mixed-use schemes aimed at the regeneration of town centres and major urban sites.
Key Property Investments (KPI)
KPI, a Joint Venture company between St Modwen PLC and Sahlia Real Estate, own the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre. St Modwen also manage the centre. KPI is currently preparing plans for a complete redevelopment of the site.
Oakmayne
Oakmayne have purchased a number of development sites within the regeneration area, and have completed the development of residential units in the area with further development planned.
