Kagyu Samye Dzong

Kagyu Samye Dzong is a Tibetan Buddhist Community Centre based in the old Manor Baths, a listed building steeped in history that had become so derelict it was on the English Heritage ‘at risk’ register.

Manor Place building is now transformed and is open to Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. It features a shrine room, meeting rooms, accommodation for monks, nuns and lay residents, rooms for hire, complementary therapy, a library and a tearoom. Along with the traditional meditation and Buddhism courses, the centre also holds classes in yoga, martial arts, while twice a week it runs a low-cost drop-in clinic offering acupuncture, cranial sacral therapy, reflexology, Indian Head massage, Holistic massage, polarity therapy and shiatsu.

Walworth Garden Farm

The Farm carries out Horticultural training for the very long term unemployed residents of Southwark, work on local environmental projects such as improvements to the; Doddington Estate, Aylesbury Estate, Pasley Park, St George's Gardens, Sexby Gardens, Dulwich Park and Southwark Park.   The garden farm also provides Environmental Education for local schools, wildlife clubs,and the School Orchard Project as well as Horticultural Therapy for people with learning disabilities.  Walworth Garden Services, a Social Enterprise employing former trainees to carry out garden maintenance jobs in Southwark, is also run from this project.
