Cross River Tram is state-of-the-art transport which will ease congestion and provide a long-awaited new link from Camden through central London to Peckham and Brixton.
The route of the Cross River Tram has been carefully selected to give maximum benefit to most people. Some sections will relieve the most overcrowded stretches of the Underground while others will provide rail connections in less prosperous areas which currently rely on buses. Cross River Tram will carry 7,000 people per hour in peak periods. Cross River Tram is part of Transport for London's business plan, published in October 2004.
