Education, Training and Employment

education

With the London College of Communications and London South Bank University already here, the education sector in Elephant and Castle is thriving. The regeneration programme aims to improve education, training and employment opportunities for local people, so they can maximise their potential both here in the borough and further afield.

As well as creating at least 4,200 new jobs, plans include:

  • two new schools, one a city academy;
  • better links between schools and colleges;
  • more funding for training and lifelong learning initiatives;
  • public/private partnerships to create training and employment opportunities;
  • increased workspace and targeted support for new and existing businesses, including the creation of a small business zone in Walworth Road;
  • better, more affordable childcare, nursery and after school places.
