Promoting the shopping centre
Jointly with the traders and St Modwen, the owners of the shopping centre, Southwark Council organises and co-funds a number of major promotions, which are designed to maintain public confidence in, and loyalty to, the shopping centre. This has included Christmas events, summer holiday events and promotions and a major celebration of the centre’s 40th birthday in spring 2005.

Lights Up 2004
See the Elephant and Castle’s lighting scheme being switched on for the first time ever – just in time for Christmas!
The first part of the Elephant and Castle’s lighting scheme will be officially ‘turned on’ December 12th. It will be filmed live and projected on to a big screen at the Elephant and Castle shopping centre.
