We use fashion, enterprise and African textiles as a method of engaging young black people with issues of culture and identity. Through an innovative project we encourage young people to develop their creative and entrepreneurial skills whilst providing the opportunity for them to demonstrate their pride in their cultural heritage.
The project starts on Mon 3rd Aug and culminates in a fashion show on Thurs 27th Aug, 6pm, at the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre.
We are looking for people to join us in the following roles:
Peer Mentors (18-25)
To lead and direct the young people in their tasks
Young participants (16-19)
Highly creative and motivated young people to take part in this competitive project
Fashion mentors
People who can customise, create and construct garments also with a skill for teaching others.
If you are interested by anything above please contact Erel Onyecherelam on 07970 869 015 or preferably email setfashionfreeyouth@yahoo.co.uk
