Contemporary art producers Artangel have commissioned a new project by young sculptor Roger Hiorns which features copper sulphate crystals grown over the surfaces of the interior by the artist. Open from 3 September to 2 November, the work will be housed in a vacant flat on the Lawson Estate at 151-189 Harper Road, SE1 6AE on council land due to be developed by Family Mosaic Housing Association as one of the Elephant and Castle regeneration programme’s 16 new housing sites. Entry to this unique installation is free and can be viewed between 12 noon to 7pm Tuesday through Saturday and 12 noon to 5pm Sundays (closed Mondays.) See www.artangel.org.uk for more information.
